Just finished Deus Ex Human Revolution

I don’t know if anyone else has drawn this comparison, but the ending REALLY reminded me of Mass Effect 3. As in…it had the same problems and had, up until that point, been a really good game.

Hint to developers: If you’re going to do a moral choice ending for your game, at least have the character’s previous actions have some effect, and give us SOME sense of what happened to the characters afterwards.

Mass Effect copies Deus Ex in more ways than one. Give the original Deus Ex a try and get your mind blown.

She isn’t an armed combatant. She isn’t a soldier. She isn’t fighting against Shep and she doesn’t get in the way of saving the galaxy. Decking her is just assault, and it’s particular disconcerting when dude!Shep does it because then it’s just a big strong man slapping a woman around for daring to question him. This. And the fact that she happens to be a WoC adds an extra layer of ickiness to the whole thing.  Are you people serious? We are talking about renegade Shepard, right? …Right? So the fact that Renegade dudeShep blatantly shoots a bunch of people right in the face, kicks and punches a bunch of others (men included), does not bother anyone, but this one instance does? Renegade Shepard is an asshole. He is a big strong man, slapping weaker people around. In ME3, he becomes downright psychotic, executing his former allies without remorse or pity and committing genocide. He shoots Legion several times, while he is unarmed and on his knees. Is the fact that he’s a misogynistic ass really that surprising to anyone?

What is this series doing to me?

It’s 12:30 a.m., and I’m up wondering if Kaidan literally kicked Vyrnnus in the face or not. And since an adult turian is going to be taller than a human teenager, I’m trying to figure out how he could have literally done it.

What is my life.

“biotic kick right in the face”  suggest that Kaidan kicked Vyrnnus…well, right in the face.

He says he did that in response to Vyrnnus pulling a knife on him. It doesn’t say Vyrnnus was standing upright at the moment of the kick, nor does it say whether or not Kaidan used a simple high kick, or a roundhouse kick, or a butterfly kick.
